Delivery
PC World offers you 2 easy ways to shop online, you can either choose to have your item delivered or Collect at store. The availability of a product is shown at the top of this page - you can then choose your preferred option when you confirm your order.
Collect@Store allows you to see which stores have your product in stock and ask for it to be reserved for you to collect, saving money and time on delivery. You will then have until the end of the next trading day to collect and pay for your items from your nearest PC World store.
Where We Deliver
Delivery must be to an address in the United Kingdom (but excluding the Channel Islands and, for some larger items, the Isle of Man, Anglesey, The Scilly Isles and the Scottish islands). All deliveries must be signed for (except items sent by post and which are small enough to be put through your letterbox).
Delivery Charges
Our delivery charge depends on the type of product ordered and whether you choose standard delivery (7 working days), or a premium. You only pay one delivery charge, irrespective of the number of products ordered. If you order two or more products which fall into different categories, the higher charge applies. The applicable standard delivery charge is shown on each product page and all charges will be visible before submitting your order . There are additional charges if you choose a premium delivery service. You will always be able to see all applicable charges before submitting your order.
Delivery Times
Delivery times are calculated in working days - i.e. Monday to Friday inclusive (but excluding Bank Holidays). If you order after 3.00pm, please calculate your delivery time as if your order had been placed the following working day. For next week day delivery (if available) please order before 10:00am.
Small Products – eg laptops, PC’s, cameras, GPS.
Standard Postal and Courier Deliveries, normally 7 Working Days. Standard postal and courier deliveries should arrive within 7 working days of placing your order (to be safe, please allow a little extra during busy sales periods).
Premium Courier Delivery Services
If you choose a product which is delivered by courier, you may be offered the option of paying a small extra charge for a premium delivery service. In this case, your product will be delivered on the date and during any time slot specified. Premium delivery is not available for products delivered direct from the supplier. All deliveries must be signed for.
If we are sending your product by courier, our third e-mail to you will contain a link to the courier's website, and a parcel number, so that you can track your order right to your doorstep. Standard courier deliveries are usually made between 9am and 5pm. All deliveries must be signed for. If you are out when the courier arrives, the courier will leave a card with a contact number for you to call.
Large Products – Eg TV’s
Our Home Delivery Service - normaly 7 Days
If you choose a product which is delivered by our home delivery service ( excluding items delivered direct from supplier) you will be able to choose preferred delivery dates when you order. We will make every effort to deliver in line with your preferences. We will contact you beforehand to confirm the delivery date and, if possible inform you if you have an morning or afternoon delivery slot.
Supplier Home Delivery
Products marked with a van logo are delivered direct from the supplier, subject to availability. Some are made to order. Some can only be delivered to mainland Great Britain addresses. You will be contacted by phone or email to confirm precise details. As a rule of thumb, please allow up to 28 calendar days for delivery, unless product page says otherwise.
IMPORTANT: We do everything we can to meet the delivery times specified in this section. However, occasionally delivery times may be affected by factors beyond our control ( eg. problems obtaining authorisation for your payment ) and therefore they cannot be guaranteed. We will inform you if we become aware of an unexpected delay.
Please allow extra time for deliveries to Scottish islands or if you apply for credit (we need to receive your signed application form back before we can process your order; this can add 7 working days).
We will notify you which delivery method we will use when we send you our third e-mail. Very occasionally different products in the same order may be delivered separately.
Services and Installation
Our installation services include unpacking your product, removal of all waste packaging and ensuring that your TV is set up, tuned in and ready to go. We offer 2 installation services - a standard installation (£59.00) and a wall mountable installation (£199.00), we also offer a scrap collection service (£16.95) where we can take away your old appliance and deal with it in an environmentally responsible manner. (£16.95).
A Standard Installation includes:
Your product unpacked and checked
Assembly of any stand delivered with (or before) your product
Your TV tuned (excluding TVs without tuners)
Your TV tested in front of you
Any unusual features explained to you
Important: A Standard Installation does not include wall mounting or chasing wires into walls.
Plasma/ Flat Panel TV must not be located near a heat source (eg near radiators, near fires or opposite windows)
There must be a working power socket within 1 metre or a suitable commercial extension lead (we will not supply this lead)
You must choose a safe and suitable position for your TV.
Wall Mountable Installation - £199.00
Make the most of your Flat Panel or Plasma TV by getting it professionally wall mounted. Our installers use a universal wall bracket to create the ultimate home cinema in your house. Have all your friends round and enjoy films, sport or even your favourite soap from an all-new perspective.
Here's what we do:
Before delivery our installer will conduct a telephone survey to ensure the installation with the product can be performed smoothly
Our installer will fit the wall mount brackets and position the TV in the desired location
Tune in channels 1,2,3,4,5, Digital Terrestrial, video and Satellite/Cable
Our installer will connect all auxiliary equipment such as DVD or video player
Connect all surround sound speakers that come with the TV or home entertainment package purchased at the same time (will not wall mount speakers)
Run cables between the Flat Panel TV and other equipment in trunking
Before leaving they will demonstrate the products and explain key features
What you need to check:
That with your new purchase you have the necessary cables and leads
Plasma screens cannot be located near a working heat source such as radiators, airflow
Heaters or fires or opposite windows
That there is a working power socket within 1m or a commercial extension lead (we will not supply an extension lead nor will we use measures which our installers deem unsafe)
Cables will not be chased into walls, therefore you need to consider trailing wires when choosing the position of your TV
Scrap Collection £16.95
We can also collect your old appliance from you when we deliver your new one, we will then deal with the waste product in an environmentally responsible manner. If you require this service please ensure that you select it from the drop down menu at the top of this page.
Finance Options
When you buy online at PC World, you can pay in full using your credit or debit card or you can spread the cost with one of our finance options.
We've made it as easy as possible to apply online for finance if you choose to purchase on credit. Simply add the products you want to buy to your basket and click ‘go to checkout’. Once you have entered your personal details or logged in you will be taken to the payment screen where you can then apply for finance. It will take only a few minutes to complete the online finance application and you’ll get a decision within 60 seconds.
Once accepted (subject to status), we'll send you a copy of the application form to sign and post to us. We'll dispatch your order as soon as we've received your signed form.
